Hopefully I can get a chart that will load on all networks but as of now the below chart will load on any computer
The TSP Allocation Index is a guideline for how much you should have in each of the 5 major funds in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
It is created by averaging hundreds of strategies, which are tracked and ranked daily by its gains year to date (YTD).
- The TSP Allocation Index Standard (TSPAIS) is the average of all strategies.
- The TSP Allocation Index Optimized (TSPAIO) is the average of the top 20% performing strategies.
- New Optimized M and Standard M are strategies that have made more than one trade this year and hence are most active accounts
The goal of the index is to be a comparison product, but eventually become an investment strategy, like the S&P 500 Index is for many people. It is an index that people compare their gains (from individual strategies) against, but also just buy and hold due to its consistent performance.
If you find this strategy to be working for you, there is no reason you can’t apply it to your other portfolios. Please click here for the list of equivalent funds to the TSP Funds.
